Did you know that you can have a personal relationship
with God through Jesus Christ? A joy and a happiness
only God can give is only a prayer away. To know God
in a personal way we must first be born again. Before I
begin, let me say this. The term "born again" has been
used in the media and Hollywood as if it were some kind
of a joke. I can assure you, it is not a joke for it is the
very thing Jesus Christ Himself said was necessary to
experience if you are going to enter His Kingdom when
you die.
"Jesus said, verily verily, I say unto you, except a man
be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God",
John 3:3. Let me put it this way, if I were satan, and I
didn't want you to believe that being born again was
essential for your salvation, I would make sure the term
"born again" was mocked too. After all, if satan can get
you to believe that being born again is nothing more
than a joke and only for those"religious nuts", then he
has succeeded in making sure that you will die in your
sins. The fact is, it is not a joke and according to Jesus
Christ, you must be born again if you plan on entering
heaven when you die. Having said that let me explain in
simple terms what it means to be born again.

Born again is a spiritual rebirth. It is something a person experiences when they have
placed their faith and trust in Christ as Lord and Savior. It truly is a supernatural event.
He literally gives you a new spirit, one that has been made righteous, thus the term, born
again. After you are born again, the Holy Spirit comes to reside within your body,
literally. He is the one who will then teach and guide you. He is the one who seals you
unto eternal life. He is called The Comforter.
Christ died for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead. That is the good news. It is
only through Him that we may have our sins forgiven simply because He is God, and
only God can forgive your sins. It is not narrow minded to say He is the only way to
heaven because no other "gods" are able to forgive your sins, only the true God, which is
Christ. This is why Jesus said, " I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to
the Father except by Me". John 14:6.
Being born again is often called the new birth, it is not complicated to understand. It
cannot be bought. You cannot work for it or earn it. It is totally free. Christ paid the
price for your sins on the cross. All you have to do is receive that forgiveness through
simple childlike faith. People will tell you it can't possibly be that easy, but it is. You have
no doubt often heard the term, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. The
difference is, God who promised eternal life to us cannot lie. Men lie, God doesn't, that's
the difference.
We are born again by simply opening up our hearts to God. Many people are too proud
to do this and those people will sadly never see God's Kingdom. If we die without
receiving the forgiveness of our sins that Christ offers, we will not be going to heaven, it's
as simple as that. The consequences of rejecting His forgiveness is that God cannot allow
you into His kingdom so you will be placed in hell. I know hell isn't a popular subject but
it is a real place nonetheless. Christ warned of hell many times. Don't be deceived.
You become born again by opening your heart up to God, repenting of your sins, asking
Christ to forgive you of those sins, believing He rose from the dead and confessing Him
as Lord. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved". Roman 10:9.
This is how a person becomes born again, starts a personal relationship with God, and
inherits eternal life. There is no greater joy in this world than to know God personally
and to know you have eternal life and a guarantee of heaven when you die. The fear of
death will leave you and God will fill you with a joy unspeakable. I pray that you make
sure that you are born again today if you haven't already. No one knows the day or the
hour they will die. Death often comes suddenly and without warning. Be ready.
